Angelina Hue

Parc de Belleville in the 20ème arrondissement is one of my favourite places in Paris and I always recommend it to everyone who’s visiting the city. It is not quite as centrally located nor as nearly as renowned as other parks and gardens like Jardin du Luxembourg, Jardin de Tuileries and Parc Monceau, or Bois de Boulogne or even Cimetière du Père Lachaise. Which is why it is not overrun by tourists (I hope that it never will be) and is a popular place for locals to hang out when the sun’s out and the weather’s warm.I love going to Parc de Belleville but I don’t visit it as often as I’d like to – I think that sometimes I’m deterred by the uphill slope and stairs. Oh, but the view, what a gorgeous panorama! It’s worth every bit of effort : )On a clear day, you will be able to spot some of the city’s famous monuments such as le Centre Pompidou, la tour Eiffel and la tour Montparnasse. I also think that this view is even more impressive than that from le Sacre Coeur, especially with the juxtaposition of the green verdant foreground against the expansive grey urban backdrop.In autumn, the view is particularly striking when the plants turn into shades of red, yellow and gold. Simply mesmerising!
