Coming from tropical Singapore, the weather was one of the main things that I had to get used to when I moved to northern Europe (Paris). I really like living in a place where there are four distinct seasons as you can see and feel time passing and there’s always something to look forward to. For instance: florescent green trees as the first leaves start to sprout in spring, two weeks of cherries and the sun setting at 9pm in summer, playing pétanque and enjoying the remaining days of lounging in the terrace in autumn, eating clementines and making carrot/pumpkin/mushroom soup in winter.
As I became familiar with the seasonal weather, I also learnt that when the sky is blue and the sun is shining brightly on a winter day, it is probably colder than the previous day when the sun was shrouded by grey clouds. But you know what, when it’s sunny in winter, the day just seems so much nicer even if it is -2°C.
