After yesterday’s post, counting down to my visit to Hong Kong, I was inspired to go through the photos of HK that I’ve taken between 1995 and 2011. I had wanted to put up 20 photos – to coincide with my being in HK in 20 days from today. But there are too many that I want to include and I can’t make up my mind!

I’ve compiled a shortlist on my computer: Some were chosen because they represented a typical scene in HK in my eyes. Others, because they brought back fond memories. The photos were taken with different cameras (an Olympus point & shoot, Canon EOS 500 & 30D, Lomo with expired film, Fuji X100). Some of them are digital scans of negatives that had turned yellow.

For now, here are three of my favorite shots taken in the MTR, which I think is one of the best subway systems in the world.

Coincidentally, I thought of “Moments to Remember” for the title of this post and realized that it would read as “MTR” when abbreviated. How apt : )

April 2004: Central station, evening peak hour

April 2004: Central MTR

September 2011: Central station, door closing

2011: Central station

November 2004: Polite PDA

November 2004: Affection
